For me, as soon as Leeds Festival has been and gone over August bank holiday weekend, it’s Autumn. Suddenly the temperatures dip, the nights start drawing in a lot earlier and the leaves are illusively turning brown. Whilst the majority of Summer Wedding season is over, there are still a few lovely crisp, autumnal weddings to be had and we had one this weekend no less. I was delighted that I had been given the chance to sort my AW15 wardrobe by being tasked with transitioning to Autumn with Joy The Store. It was a perfect opportunity to road test this gorgeous dress from the Louche range.

As we managed to catch the late evening sun, it was clear that the dress was the perfect choice for the Wedding reception, in fact I have another dress from Joy that is my go-to occasion dress. The light, chiffon material made it easy to move around in and wasn’t too hot. And the long sleeves provided me with cover for the cooler air that was beginning to filtrate the night’s sky. I felt so womanly, as it hugged the right places without being too pretentious and my best friend couldn’t stop telling me that the dress was perfect for me and my curvier figure (that’s what BFF are for, right?) To pair it with my dainty, barely there heels was the right idea too. With such a pretty dress I didn’t want to wear anything too overbearing on my feet. I let the necklace do all the talking instead!

I always find it difficult at first to start packing away my Summer wardrobe as I love warm weather and the light nights, but this year, after a diabolical & turbulent summer I’m actually quite looking forward to knowing that the chunky knits are coming and half way through the day I won’t have to strip down in humid heat. I am hoping to really streamline my wardrobe again this year and have an en-masse clear out that see’s my donating more clothes to Martin House. I know that this dress is going to be worn to death, it’s one of those garments that you know that you will always be able to rely on no matter what. Even when I’m having a mini meltdown deciding what to wear!

Whilst most stores are slowly getting rid of their Summer stock, now is the time to be checking out all the new-in ranges! I’m like a kid in a candy store when the colour palettes start changing in store to match the season and Joy the Store have definitely got some beautiful pieces to revamp your Autumn wardrobe, too.
