The Kimono Lives On | QueenBeady

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but recently I have done away with my tripod. No longer am I taking photos by myself before I head out, all alone, trying to ”werk it” with no encouragement. It sounds stupid but it’s damn hard to try and work it when you have absolutely no clue what it looks like on the other side. A couple of weeks ago I took the plunge. I asked my sister to do my blog photos for me. Little did I know just how much easier it would begin to be, with someone being able to tell you what you look like, what’s working and what’s not is not only making my photos a damn sight better, it’s actually bolstering my confidence in bucket loads.

I know I’m no model, you aren’t going to see me gracing the covers of Vogue anytime soon, but I’m slowly starting to become a bit more vivacious with my blog & not being scared to try new things. I hope it’s showing, especially in this festival ready kimono from New Look. I do like to bang on about the wonderful countryside that surrounds us, a lot. But in truth, it really is the most beautiful area and we are so lucky to have such a lush backdrop. Heading down the river during summer is a welcome change to the fast paced office and you can spend hours whiling away the time. Often you will see the salmon swimming upstream if you are lucky!

I digress away from the outfit, set against the gorgeous green woodland and calming river this outfit didn’t look out of place. Whilst rather hippy-like it was certainly getting me in the mood for festival season and can happily see myself dancing away in the fields of Bramham Park in August in this too. I paired the kimono with my new dungaree dress that you may have seen on my Instagram a few weeks ago. I’ve finally managed to give it a whirl, whilst it is a little shorter on me I’m hoping once I’ve lost a little more weight around my hips it might start to just that extra-bit better.

Kimono’s aren’t just for the day time either? See how I paired it for an evening look below.

The Kimono lives on in many ways. No longer is it just reserved for festivals you can really spruce up a rather dull outfit with an oversized kimono jacket to create a whole new layer to an evening outfit.

Do you have a Kimono that you always wear or have you seen some online that you are currently lusting over? Send links my way!

      Hi Danielle,
By Christ does it make me laugh, but it’s also making me really happy that I have more confidence to share this with my family and friends! Thank you.

You look gorgeous! You’re rocking those leather trousers! I love the kimono, it’s such a pretty print. I love versatile pieces, that you can just throw on, they really add something different to an outfit.

Love the kimono! Does it make you just want to constantly hold your arms out to show off the gorgeous shape? You look lovely 🙂

Haha, I felt like a floaty butterfly, you just can’t help waving it about can you?

That kimono is a gorgeous shape! I much prefer boxy ones as opposed to the duster style that are out and about right now. I cannot take my own outfit photos and ALWAYS get someone to take them for me. It is SO much easier!

      Thanks Rachael,
I love it, the pattern is also a firm favourite of mine too! It really is so much better isn’t it?

I keep seeing kimonos in the shops but I wasn’t sure how to style them away from a festival or the beach – I love how you’ve styled this one though, especially showing it can be styled for the evening as well.

p.s. By the way, you are a stone cold fox, Miss Bee! You have inspired me to buy a dungaree dress (if the sun finally decides to shine in Glasgow, anyway!).

You don’t know how much this comment made me smile! Thank you very much, I’m not one for wearing a dungaree dress but thought, you know what, let’s do something different for a change.
Let me see how you styled it when you get it!
