The Disneyland Tag | QueenBeady

Disneyland Paris Balloons

Boy oh boy, it’s beenΒ 7 years since my last visit to Disneyland, but with 4 visits to Disneyland Paris under my belt, along with a trip to Disney World Florida back when I was 15Β – I can safely say that that place is where I recall some of my happiest memories. Now I’m not going to go all ”sobby sobby” on you, but it genuinely is a place that I felt like I was 100% safe, locked away from the outside world. No pain, no tears and no bullying. It is literally my happy place, hence why I want to do this tag.

I found it on the wonderful Danielle’s blog (which you can read here!) I decided that I wanted to do something similar. I don’t usually do tag posts, so thought it was time for me to break the mould a little? Now, you will have to excuse some of the quality of the photos. This was before the days of my bridge camera! I’ve even stolen some from my Mummy’s collection too.

1. What year did you first visit DLP and how old were you?
It was for my tenth birthday. My mum had booked it as a surprise to celebrate me going in to ”doubleΒ figures”; Even the school knew about it. To top it off we went to Britney Spears live in Paris City Centre too. I swear all my dreams had been rolled in to one big dream.

2. Which of the Disney hotels have you stayed in, if any, and do you have a favourite?
I have been lucky enough to stay in the New York, Newport Bay & Sequoia Lodge that are all Disney hotels in Disneyland Paris, The Pop Cenury in Disneyworld Florida and also the Non-Disney Hotel, The Kyriad. I love all the hotels for different reasons. It’s a toss up between the Newport & Sequoia, the latter because it was my first hotel when I went to Disney and the Newport is because of the wonderful charm of the hotel. It feels like you’ve really stepped back in time to New England.

3. Let us in on where the best places to eat within both parks and the Disney Village are.
My family & I will hands down agree, the best snack food at the park are Casey’s Hotdogs on Main Street USA! They are so so so good. To have a proper sit down meal, we love the Rainforest CafΓ© too. The atmosphere is so great in there & when it starts to have the ”tropical rainstorm” it makes you all want to huddle together. It is such a great experience! Also, if you are looking for a show & dinner, head to Buffalo Bills Wild West Show. It is so much fun!

4. Where is your first port of call when entering the Disneyland Park?
We always head to Fantasy Land, especially when I’m with my family. They aren’t fast ride fans, so The Peter Pan ride & It’s a Small World are some of their faves. I’m happy to put up with it, because it makes them happy. If I’m with my husband, James, we like the fast rides so we are eager to get on Space Mountain in Discovery Land or Big Thunder Mountain in Frontier Land.

5. Do you have a favorite ‘land’? If so why?
Don’t make me choose. They are all so unique and wonderful in their own ways. If I had to choose one, I love the rides in Frontier Land probably the most, but I love the endearment and magical-ness of Fantasy Land. It is a tough call?

6. Which ride could you ride over and over and never tire of?
Probably Thunder Mountain. I think this is a test to see how many times I can write, ”Big Thunder Mountain” – I love how it’s a thrill rollercoaster ride, but it’s not too scary/too fast like it’s bigger, more sophisticated older brothers, Space Mountain & AeroSmith’s Rock N’ Rollercoaster, respectively.

7. Disneyland Park or Walt Disney Studios park?
Disneyland Park hands down. When we went to WDSP it was okay, lot’s of queuing and not as many rides. I think this has all since changed now and there are a lot of new rides! So maybe my thought process will change if I go again. But for the time being, for arguments sake, Disneyland Park is without a doubt my favourite!

Jessy

8. Tell us about your favorite character meeting ever at DLP.
All of them? However, my all-time best character meeting has to be with Jessy the Cowgirl on my first ever trip! Sadly, my little sister didn’t come with us (funnily enough her name is Jessy too) and at the time this was her favourite character, she has alllll the toys. So it was only right to bring back a photo with her. Luckily, when we all went to Walt Disney World Florida we managed to get one with both of us.

9. What is a parade/show from any year that is most memorable to you?
I’m not massive on the names of the shows? I just watch them. They are all so fun, one that always sticks in my mind is the Halloween Parade and the music, everybody now ”It’s Halloween-o-ween, everybody, let out a scream, scream it’s Halloween!” Don’t pretend like you don’t know the one?

tea cups

10. You can only ride one – Mad Hatters Teacups or Dumbo the Flying Elephant?
This is a toughy. I love the Mad Hatter’s Teacups! I think it has to be that one.

11. What do you think is the best attraction in the Walt Disney Studios park?
Definitley the Studio Tours. It’s a little bit different, it feels all Hollywood. Almost as if Disneyworld Florida has been transported over to Paris, ya’ know. Fun!

Mickey Balloons

12. Describe your happiest Disneyland Paris memory of all time.
I can’t define one moment, because they are all such happy memories. For me, it’s seeing my family & husband so happy. Feeling as though you are completely cut off from real life and the reality that you had left behind. It’s care-free & it gave me escape during some really rubbish times growing up. It was a little bit of hope that there was good in the world. So yeah, that really.

if you are a Disneyland fanatic, why don’t you give this a go – I’d love to hear what your favourite’s are!

Yay! So glad you decided to do this! I did Buffalo Bills in 2010 but when we went in 2014 we’d planned to do it but decided against it so we are 100% doing it next year as my Mam’s never been.

I would absolutely love to go to Disneyland. I went when I was young to the Paris one but I can’t remember it. Hoping to go to the Florida one in the next couple of years!

Oh Jenna, it really is where dreams are made! You’ll love Paris, I think the rides are slightly better because they are newer (a little faster on the rollercoasters etc.) But that’s just my opinion. Life is short, get going!

I love Disneyland Paris, I went a couple of years ago and I’m going back between Christmas and New Year this year and I’m so excited after seeing this πŸ˜€
You were living every 10 year olds dream with that holiday plus a Britney Spears concert. 8 year old me is jealous of 10 year old you.

We stayed in the Hotel Sante Fe, and I loved the Cars themed rooms. One morning Minnie Mouse was in the lobby, and despite being 20 years old, I dragged my sister into the queue and we had our photos taken. We may have been the oldest people in the queue who weren’t parents.

      Hi Rosie,
Oh my! Between Christmas and New Year must been amazing and so magical. I went once at the beginning of December with Mr C and it was cold, so wrap up warm!
Most of the other times I have been in October – which has to be my ultimate favourite time (plus it’s near my birthday!)
You would not believe how excited I was for that holiday! All my dreams came true & my mum had worked so hard to get us there, she is super wonderful!

Awwww what a sweet post. I’d love to go to Disney Land but I think I will wait until I have children in my future and then I can enjoy it with them and their smiles. I don’t think it’ll be the same if I go without children although when vloggers go it seems like so much fun! I hope that one day I can visit.

      Hi Shannon,
The place is great for big kids too πŸ˜‰ It’s fun with kids I imagine, but make the most of being able to go on the big rides if you can! I can only imagine what it must be like to see a child’s face light up for the first time they go to Disney. It’s a wonderful place!

EEK this is the most exciting post EVER and glad you got some escape at Disney of all places…but makes me sad you needed it…. :/ I have been like three times, but I was too young to really do anything/remember anything because it was with my Mum and she is just the jolliest.. hahaha! BUT how cool would a Disneyland wedding be or something? I am all up for that πŸ˜‰ xxx

    1. QueenBeady Avatar

      Hi Jessica,
Don’t be sad, I found happiness there! I’m grateful for every single moment, live life to the fullest.
I always dreamt of being proposed to and getting married at Disney haha, it didn’t quite happen like that! But it would be awesome to do it all over again there right? Maybe you πŸ˜‰ should do it!
