The ”I’m a Celebrity & I can do whatever I like” Culture | QueenBeady

Wow, what a week for Media controversy’s. It’s never dull in celeb-land is it? From Jeremy Clarkson’s fracas with a producer, to the rather old-fashioned comments from D&G on surrogacy and now the vile tirade that Natalia Kills & husband, Willy Moon launched on contestant Joe, on the New Zealand version of X Factor.

It begs the question – do these people really know what influences they have on modern day society? All the people questioned above, I at some point, have looked up to and valued their presence as an artist, designer, presenter. To only be swatted round the face with a fly squatter and told to ”wake the hell up.” Yes, they are human beings, we all make mistakes, say things and do things that don’t always have the desired effect that we necessarily want. But the difference between them & I is that they are in the public eye and they all have well regarded fans and followers. Some of those who are impressionable.

Hitting someone is not acceptable – but we don’t know the ins and out’s of that one. D&G’s comments are old-fashioned & I don’t agree with them but we all have opinions, who knows if those words have been twist. But to me, the direct vile abuse that Natalia Kills & Willy Moon gave that poor sod on stage was just a car crash that I could barely watch through the little gaps in between my fingers. It was live, everything was on show for all it was worth. That was downright bullying. You could not hide from it, warts and all.

You can watch the clip here. And do you know what it was over, not his ability to sing, or his fantastic performance, oh no-no don’t be silly, it was over his suit and hair. Yes, you did read that right. Apparently he was a ”doppelganger” of Willy Moon and he should be embarrassed of how much he had ”copied” him with his suit. I am actually appalled at the venomous blasting that that poor boy received on national TV. Well of course, the underdog had the last laugh. After much campaigning the two have been sacked after the appalling behaviour they displayed over the weekend.

Bullying is not ok. They sent out a very loud & clear message that it was ”ok” to ridicule someone. It just doesn’t sit comfortably with me. Two young, influential artists who quite possibly could have been bullied themselves not that long ago were being the bully. That’s pretty rubbish to me, especially when I have seen someone dear to me be treated in a similar way. Bullying will never be ok & I applaud MediaWorks for quickly taking action.

Have you seen the video? Are you happy that they have been sacked?

Yeah as soon as I saw the video I was actually shocked at first I laughed because I thought it was a joke and then it carried on and I was like who even are you to say that? She’s a nasty nasty cretin and I hope she loses all work from that. x

It was just a car crash. I know it’s super late to post as it happened like a week ago I just felt so compelled to write something. It was horrendous and I would be ashamed to be them right now. Their pathetic excuse for ”an apology” is just tasteless. Not good!

I haven’t seen the video but I’m going to go and watch it now! I think you’re right that there is an element of celebrities feeling like they are untouchable and can just do what they want. But, as you said, they should really be more careful than anybody else because they have thousands of people looking at them and possibly idolising them. I’d like to think that if I ever became famous for whatever reason that I’d still be true to myself and not become a massive diva. I don’t know though, maybe everyone starts out like that and then they just become part of the celebrity bubble?!

      Hi Suzy,
It’s a horrible watch. But, worth watching just to see how vile they were to get the whole picture of it. It’s embarrassing. I’d be super ashamed of myself if I had let that status get to my head though. Goodness knows what they were both thinking when they launched this scary tirade!
