The Wedding Diaries: The Rings | QueenBeady

We were so lucky that when we stumbled upon a local Wedding Fair at a local venue that we also came across two of the main suppliers for our wedding. The Band and also The rings.

The rings are the one thing that you keep after the big day (except the photos & memories). The only tangible object you get to keep should I say.

I was always quite adamant with what ring I wanted. Mr C had obviously done the most perfect job of picking an emerald shaped diamond engagement ring, the band was quite plain. I decided that to ‘’jazz’’ it up a bit I wanted a diamond band. And doth the lady protest. The lady got.

James ring was a plain band as he has quite a strenuous job that requires him to use his hands alot, in fact, I’m still quite shocked that he hasn’t take it off?!

The beautiful rings are from Iain Henderson Ring Designs and they were so helpful every step of the way. As I have teeny, weeny fingers my ring took a little longer to design but no longer than it would have had we have gone with Fraser Hart (that experience I will not go in to – so take my advice, always go with an independent jeweller who is passionate about what they do! Most of the time you will get a better deal too!). He has his own studio in his back garden in Bingley. One cold. rainy, miserable December night we headed over for our consultation and it was just delightful having that one on one time where you weren’t worried about the massive queue forming behind you. Everything was so personal. Even down the little bottle of fizz we got when we went to pick up the rings.

We were so happy with our rings & we are able to go back every year and have them buffed and cleaned professionally, free of charge! So stop what you are doing, stop scrolling through all those high street jewellers who WILL rip you off & royally so and head over to Iain’s website. Book yourself an appointment, you won’t regret it.

I agree about the whole independent jewellers thing, i would want exactly the same experience when i’m choosing my own wedding ring instead of feeling under pressure from customers lurking behind me. Loving these wedding posts chick keep them coming 🙂 xx

Aw thank you so much Kate! That means a lot!
We had a terrible performance with a well known high street jeweller who sold my ring to me as platinum only to be rung hours later when we had ordered it that it was actually white gold. If the jeweller that was selling couldn’t tell that my ring was platinum and she works in a JEWELLERS, then I don’t know what the world is coming to. So happy with our rings ❤️

I’d love the experience of getting our rings made by an independent jeweller but we have a budget on our rings and am always put off by not knowing the price range! I don’t want to go and then be stood there like an awkward lemon! Is it cheaper or around the same value as high street?

I always try to buy things from independent retailers, you usually get a better service and you’re right, a better deal too. What lovely rings! So romantic *swoons*
